That’s great! No zoom or anything, pretty much everything is covered here and on the club Facebook page. With scheduling conflicts and damaged boats etc it looks lime we’ll have three boats for the first part of the week.
We’re a few weeks away and we look forward to seeing those that can make it. The lake is in great shape, warm waters and clear skies so far. 🤞

What sort of speed sensor is built in? The tablet will be GPS speed over ground, the sensor may be reading speed thru the water.
We’ve had to adjust our dates a bit due to family events etc but these dates are now firm for the MacShwap. Details have been adjusted above

Sounds like a great adventure. Channel 68 is good as far as I know. Cellular coverage is pretty good too except for the north ends of the arms

Citrus is not allowed. Prepared / cooked foods are generally OK.
I used Boat Life Life-Seal as recommended by BWY. Use a sharp knife to cut the old sealant when removing the window. Slide it around between the window and the fiberglass, cutting the sealant.
Many factors affect range including quality of the radio and antenna, height of antenna, terrain (VHF is line of sight).
That said it is the standard device to carry on a boat (along with a cell phone). SSB and ham might be carried offshore but I think more commonly it would be a sat phone or communicator like an InReach these days

But seriously what do define as long range? For coastal use, just about any VHF will do.
Mine doesn’t drop until I am slow or almost stopped. When stopped it drops in a few seconds. Something interfering?
Mountain lakes can be gusty and can be aloft and not visible on the surface. We’re always ready on the mainsheet to give it a ‘fisherman’s reef’
What tanks did you use?
