Help please. I’m a new owner of a 26M. The control cables follow the movement of the engine and as a result rub against the engine well entry point. Previous owner had PVC piping around the cables for protection but that interfered with the steering so I’ve taken it off. Picture is once this PVC has been removed. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions? Thanks.

On our X, the cables and wiring are inside of a clear vinyl hose to prevent chafing, and is then covered with a split boot. Will take pic tomorrow.

I have a picture of ours. Cable protected by plastic split cable protector. Rubber boot to stop water from following cable into boat.

Sorry didn’t make it to the boat today, but that is exactly like ours. Behind the boot there is clear vinyl tubing around the cables and wiring to keep them from chafing on the fiberglass. Hopefully that makes sense.
