AGM 2010: ATTENTION ALL MacGREGOR Owners NOV. 21st @ 2PM (1400Hours)

AGM Nov 21 at Dennis & Debbie Nisbets in Port Moody.
Mark your calendars, plan to be there. It’s your club, your voice counts, and we need member volunteers to run our club.

ATTENTION to all MYCBC Members, MacGREGOR Boat Owners, and Past Members.

We are a Virtual Club, but most of all we are an Active MacGregor Boat Owners Club. WE need you all to attend this years AGM. We need your input. We need your participation. We need you to Volunteer to help us grow the club, and manage our events at various levels of interest. A club doesn’t run on Autopilot or by a Click on a mouse… it needs people to share something of themselves.

TRUE you will not see a dime at the end of the day, but you will basque in personal satisfaction.
TRUE you will have to attend club meetings, plan, prepare, and excecute club events and activities, but you and your camarades will sherish at year end, everlasting memories and satisfaction that you where part of the successful growth of the club.
TRUE if you don’t volunteer and share something of yourself… TRUE we all Loose.
So take a moment and share with us, how you would like the club serve your needs, and how you feel you can help the club.

It is your club… Help us make it OUR Club. OUR growth depends on YOU.

Do not simply read this thread and move on… Post a reply with your thoughts… Step up to the plate and express yourself… TRUST me we will all gain from it.

In a future thread I will post the vacant positions and some of the hightlites of this years AGM.

Kathleen Worthy has served our club well for many years, and we thank her for volunteering. She is retiring in pursuit of Grandchildren.

IT CAPTAIN; VACANT

Rick Worthy will stay on as site administrator till a suitable candidate can free him of his services. This position requires someone who understands and can create websites.

We were on a project to create a website that will better meet the needs of our club. If you have strong IT skill. We would really appreciate if you could volunteer as IT CAPTAIN.

Rick is a proud Grandfather and those little munchkins need his personal attention. For this reason we need to let him go. Rick thank you for the years as volunteer.

I came across a site called North East Trailer Sailors that we may like to borrow some ideas from. I am no IT buff by any means, I really struggle with computers as a user. If someone can assume the position they may wish to check it out.

2. start time 2pm, runs 2pm to 7pm
3.Year summary from officers
4. Election of 2010 officers.
5. Discussion 2010 Agenda, and past due issues.
6. Workshop to organize 2010 agenda
7. Pot Luck dinner
8. Summary reports from group on 2010 activitues and future planning meetings. Closure of 2010 AGM by 7pm

Outstanding issues:

1. Re-visit terms of officers.
2. Meeting places (re: Monthly meetings)( a. home pot lucks vs. standard location, or more central location for all members of the lower mainland)
3. Cruises:
a) recommended Desolation sound as a Week Long event
b) 2011 Broughtons cruise project
c) Indian Arm as an early W/E event and shake down
d) best time for Rear Commodore cruise in Gulf Islands
4. Recruiting: a) Club hand outs to recruit MacGregor Owners, b) Retaining new members and intro to club.
5. Events: a) Blaine regatta, 26M vs 26X, b) MacRendezVous 2010 topics rough weather sailing and fishing/sea harvesting.
6. MYCBC website new design
7. finalize 2010 agenda.
